About Macqueen's Funerals in Terang & CamperdownMacqueen’s Funerals is owned and operated by husband and wife team Anne Gleeson and Steve Lamb. Anne and Steve are renowned for providing the highest level of funeral care across Terang and Camperdown districts and throughout the Corangamite Shire. They are supported by a team of dedicated staff to ensure personal and competent service is available when it is needed. 
 In 1901, James Macqueen opened Macqueen's Funerals in what is now the Cooinda Day Training Centre in Dow Street, Terang, where the family was living. His son Ken built a home in Baynes Street and then in 1946, on the land that Poon Tuc used for his Chinese market garden, built the Terang funeral home that exists today. In 1960 Ken's son Don and his wife Kath built the Camperdown premises and lived and worked there until they retired in 2000. Anne and Steve purchased the business at the beginning of 2014. 
 Both Anne and Steve worked for several funeral businesses before establishing their own funeral home in Daylesford. For Anne, buying Macqueen’s Funerals meant a return to her childhood home. She grew up on the Milangil Settlement and attended Camperdown schools. Steve is a Sydney boy but has adapted happily to the friendliness and beauty of this part of the Western District. 
 Anne and Steve love the work they do, whether it is supporting grieving families when death occurs, caring for the deceased or putting in place the funeral people have chosen. Both are committed to being part of driving the funeral industry forwards, respecting the value of ritual, but seeking the best ways of meeting the diverse needs of people in today's society – by listening acutely to what people are asking for, offering pre-arranged and pre-paid funerals, a much wider range of possibilities for farewell services and a community orientated website incorporating online funeral notices and space for tributes and community events. 
 Whether or not Anne is working, she loves getting out into the community and meeting people. At other times she enjoys long walks, gardening, and words – reading, writing and speaking them. Steve too is a community person, spending time on the bowling green, at Lions, on the golf course and catching up with friends. He particularly enjoys escaping with his camera for an occasional weekend in the bush or by the ocean.
